Frequently Asked Wedding Questions
Will there be a second shooter?
A second professional photographer who complements my style is included in all standard packages. A LOT happens at weddings and I strongly prefer to have another set of eyes, skill and talent with me.
How does it all work? Do you work with a shot list?
A month or two before your wedding date when most of the final details have been worked out, I'll start working with you to create a personalized timeline for us to follow. The timeline often has some extra time built-in but is a well thought out guide to get the best and most out of me. A shot list is only needed for the Family portraits part of the day.
What kind of gear do you use?
I use these rectangular black boxes with a bunch of buttons that help me create and record images! I have professional series Sony Full-Frame cameras, multiple lenses and an array of flashes to cover whatever conditions we are faced with.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
Yes, absolutely. Extra wedding coverage hours can be added day of for $400/hr.
How does payment work?
A 50% non-refundable retainer at the time of signing your agreement secures your date with Tom Pappa Photography. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding date and can be setup in numerous payments if needed.
How many images will I receive?
The short answer? Enough to tell your story. The physical number depends on hours of coverage but averages around 500 images per 6 hr coverage and 750 images per 10 hr coverage. I will not hold pictures hostage. If we capture 1,000 images that tell your story well in 6 hrs, you will receive 1,000 images.
How long does it take to get all of my images?
Within 2 weeks you will receive a digital Highlights gallery with 50+ images showcasing all the different parts of your day. The remainder are delivered within 3 months. Sometimes sooner, depending on workload.
How will I receive the final images?
All final images are sent in BOTH Color and Black & White via a password-protected digital gallery that's categorized by the sections of the day. It's easy to share with your family and friends, to download your photos and order prints & products from as well. In addition to the digital gallery, your final images will be mailed on a USB drive with a selection of prints neatly packaged in a box with a bow! *Feel free to ask to see an entire wedding gallery*
Do you offer albums?
Sure do! High-quality albums start at $500 and can be added at any time.
Do I have to order prints through you?
I work with companies that provide some of the best photo printing available and it's incredibly easy & fast to order prints through the digital gallery. However, you will receive high resolution optimized images with full printing rights and are free to print your images wherever you like. I would advise against getting prints from places like CVS or Walmart. In this digital age I urge everyone to print, hold and hang your favorite photos!
